Faculty Position

Ohio University's Department of Social Work, one of 19 departments in the College of Arts and Sciences, invites applications for an Assistant Professor, tenure track position beginning August, 2010. The main campus of Ohio University is located in Athens, Ohio, a beautiful community situated in the rolling hills of southeastern Ohio. We seek a candidate with a commitment to working effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds. Preferred candidates will contribute to the climate of diversity in the College,including diversity in scholarly approaches.

Tenure Track, Assistant Professor/Athens: Minimum requirements include an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program, with at least two years of post-MSW practice experience and PhD in Social Work or DSW. Candidates who are ABD may be considered. Experience with diversity issues, diverse student populations, and working in multicultural enviornments is preferred. Teaching experience, a commitment to research, and a record of successful publication within the field of social work are highly desirable. Responsibilities include teaching of undergraduate and MSW courses, within the practice and/or clinical concentration. Other duties include research and scholarship, student advising, and service to the department, College of Arts and Science, Ohio University and the community. Ohio University's undergraduate Social Work program was one of the first in the country to be accredited by CSWE and has continually maintained that status. The rural-focused MSW program, also accredited by CSWE, is now in its tenth year.
